Information kit concerning recycling and domestic garbage;
Calendar of pickup dates for recycling material and domestic garbage

Sir, Madam,

Please find enclosed your information kit concerning recycling and domestic garbage;

•    Calendar of pickup dates for recycling material and domestic garbage (including hairdressers, pet groomers, aestheticians, massage therapists)
•    List of accepted and refused materials.
•    Businesses including Non-Profit Organisations, Religious Institutions, Schools, Halls, will need to approach the contractor for pickups.

All bags used must be transparent or clear blue for recyclable materials and also for domestic garbage.

All recyclable materials can be put in the same bag.

Please bring your bags at your curb side entrance on the specified dates for recycling and domestic garbage on the calendar
Tuesday:  recycling
Thursday:  domestic garbage

·  Moulded pulp (egg containers, etc.)

·  Milk cartons, juice cartons and frozen food boxes

·  Aluminium lined juice cartons (Tetra Pak)
·  Oil soaked cardboard, paint soaked cardboard, etc.

Glass

 

  Lid free containers and bottles

·  Tableware

·  Windows or mirrors

·  Light bulbs and fluorescent lamps

·  Fibre glass

·  Porcelain and ceramic

Plastic

 

·  Plastic types 1 threw 7 with the exception of refused plastic materials (see column on the right)

·  Food product containers (margarine, yogurt, ice cream, muffins, etc.)

·  Maintenance product containers (dishwashing liquid, bleach, etc.)

·  Cosmetic product containers (shampoo, cream, etc.)

·  Plastic lids

·  Grocery and produce bags

·  Bread and milk bags, empty and clean

·  Plastic toys free of ANY metal parts

·  Earth free plastic gardening pots

·  Compact discs, DVD and cases

·  Plastic film (saran wrap)

·  Containers or pieces of Styrofoam

·  Containers for motor oil, turpentine, gasoline or any other dangerous goods

·  Biomedical products (syringes, needles, etc.)

·  Chip bags

·  Hay baling bags

·  Styrofoam gardening pots

·  Garden hose

·  Rope (nylon, clothes line, hay baling, etc.)

Metal

·  Tin cans (with or without labels)

·  Caps or lids

·  Aluminium beverage cans

·  Clean aluminium paper or plates
All types of batteries

·  Paint, stripper or aerosol containers

·  Metal pieces of over 2 kg and longer than 60 cm

·  Metal coat hangers and wire

 

 

Note : The materials appearing in bold are newly accepted materials.

 

Instructions :

 

·      The plastic bags must be gathered and compressed in the same bag.

·      Ideally, the plastic caps must remain on the plastic containers.

·      It is not necessary to remove the plastic neck from the milk, juice and Tetra Pak type containers.

·      All containers must be rinced out.

·      Labels can be left on tin cans and glass containers.

·      Residual food must be removed from pizza boxes and other restaurant delivery boxes
