INFORMATION:

NEW REGULATION

In order to prevent a sewer backup a retention valve must be installed inside all new construction, as well as in all actual residences. A permit must be obtained before proceeding, for more information please communicate with the municipal office at 819-683-2259.

COMING EVENTS…

•    Remembrance Day 2007!
Saturday November the 11th at11h00, at the cenotaph.  A good occasion to pay tribute and to recognize the contribution of our valuable war heroes to world peace.  The ceremonies will be followed by a light lunch at George’s bar.

•    Badminton has started
Tuesdays and Thursdays at 18h00 at the Poupore school gymnasium, a nice physical activity with good company.  Another service provided by your municipality

•    October is walking month
It is never too late to do it!

ARENA

•    Overture
The Centre de Loisirs des Draveurs will be opened to all starting on the 20th of October next. User fees of 65$ will be charged except for residents of Fort-Coulonge,  Mansfield-and-Pontefract and the same goes for all minor hockey players. For all other information contact Mr. Garry Lévesque at 819-683-1534 or at 819-683-2632.

•    The Cantina is in dire need of volunteers
    Are you interested!  Please call Debbie at 819-683-3273.

AT YOUR LIBRARY...

•    Invitation is given to all children!  The story telling hour has re-started, when? Saturday’s at 10:00 on the 27th of October, the 24th of November and again on the 15th of December next. Children should profit from this!

•    Do you know of Louis-Joseph Papineau? Wednesday the 21st of November at 19h00, M. Pierre Ippersiel will be present to talk about this important person in the history of our nation. An event not to be missed and best of all it’s free!

MESSAGE FROM YOUR VOLUNTEER FIRE BRIGADE

Wood burning is so much cheaper and so comfortable, a good stove that is up to standards and a well kept clean chimney are a sure guarantee of security.  Please install fire alarms they do save lives!

WINTER PARKING

For the winter period, November 15 to April 15 it is PROHIBITED TO PARK on the streets of the town from midnight to 6:00 AM. Thank you for your collaboration!

THE 10 RULES FOR A SAFE HALLOWEEN!
1-    I wear short costumes to prevent falling
2-    I wear very bright costumes with reflective bands so I can be more visible
3-    I do not wear masks but makeup so that I can see and hear better
4-    I light up a flashlight to see better and to be better seen
5-    I inform my parents of the route to be taken and my coming home time
6-    I only ring at doors with a group or an adult and I always wait outside of the house
7-    I only take one side of the road at the time and I do not cross unnecessarily
8-    I only cross roads at intersections and I respect traffic signs
9-    I refuse to go near strange cars or to get in without my parents permission
10-    I check with my parents all candies before eating them

Carefulness is so much better tasting

NEW HOUR CHANGING DATE
This fall we turn back our clocks to normal time on the first Sunday in November (4th) this way we can catch an extra hour of sleep, and if ever we forget to change our clocks, well then we’ll be ahead of everybody else by one hour…
