MUNICIPAL BULLETIN – VOLUME 5


INFORMATION:

FOR A CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN TOWN!

May, embellishment and clean-up month. On Saturday the 3rd of May we will be having our yearly town clean-up, everybody’s collaboration is necessary! Every mean is good to embellish our community: Flowers, paint, raking, removing obsolete objects, etc. SPRING is here new season new look!
 

ARENA

•    The arena will be CLOSED as of the 28th of March

•     A GREAT THANK YOU TO ALL VOLUNTEERS that worked in the cantina, to the Fort Coulonge volunteer firefighters and our Daughters of Isabella that took care of the bar during the hockey tournaments. It has been a great success.  Hope to see you nest year.

•    Saturday the 10th of May you are invited to a SPECTACLE OF MAJORETTES that will be held at the arena, for more information contact Isabelle Cyr at (819) 683-3064. It’s a date…

QPP: PARKING AND ATV’s

In coming weeks the Quebec Provincial Police will further intervene in assuring the respect of our municipal parking rules and to the illegal ATV’s on our streets.  You can also help by reporting all mischief s at 310-4141.

RUES PRINCIPALES FOUNDATION

The project is taking shape! A group of citizens are coming together.
A date to remember, May 14 at 7:00 pm at the Recreational Centre.
Will you be there???

AT YOUR LIBRARY

- Story telling time on Saturdays the 26 of April and the 31st of May
  (10h00 to noon)

- Family outing and free access for 4 in our local museums,
  you can borrow the free pass

MUNICIPAL WEEK - from June 1st to June 7, 2008

Lunch with the mayor, Friday the 6th of June at the Golden Age Club from 11h30; also a nice occasion to recognise the contribution of our volunteers.  Other activities are also planned...

You are also invited to organise an activity on Saturday the 7th of June for the let’s celebrate our neighbour day: BBQ, Family picnic, games for the kids, It is up to you to participate.  Come on show a little imagination!

HOUSEHOLD GARBAGE, RECYCLING AND RECOVERY

The life span of our garbage dump is coming to an end.  Alternate solutions are being studied such as door to door collection.  A very important folder to follow …

DID YOU KNOW THAT…

More and more of our citizens are recycling, in fact in 2006, 31,687 pds of recycle matter were recovered in and in 2007, more than 44,112 pds;
an increase of 40%. If this keeps up 2008 will even be better!
